Your account

You need an account to create a Passport. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for the accuracy of the information you provide. You must be at least the minimum working age in your location to use Passport.

What your Passport is

Your Passport is a profile that consolidates your identity verification, work history, references, and, where you authorize it, background screening and employment eligibility results. It belongs to you. Creating a Passport is free and always will be.

Passport is not a guarantee of employment. Employers make their own hiring decisions.

Applying to jobs and sharing with employers

When you apply to a job with your Passport, you are authorizing us to share the relevant parts of your Passport with that employer. You control which employers can see your Passport, and you can revoke access at any time going forward, though we cannot unshare information an employer has already viewed.

Background checks and verification

Where you authorize it, we arrange identity verification, background checks, and I-9 and E-Verify checks through third-party providers. These are governed by separate disclosure and authorization forms, which you will be asked to review and sign before any check is run.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Provide false or misleading information on your Passport
• Use someone else’s identity or impersonate another person
• Attempt to access another person’s account or Passport
• Use Passport for any unlawful purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the site or app

Ownership

You own the information in your Passport. We own the Passport platform, including its design, software, and branding. Using Passport does not give you rights to our trademarks or technology beyond what is needed to use the service as intended.

Disclaimers

Passport is provided as is. We work to keep verification and screening results accurate, but we do not guarantee that every job listing, employer, or piece of shared information is complete, current, or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Passport. Nothing here limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

Text messages

A sign-in code goes to your phone because you asked to sign in. Everything else is optional, off unless you turn it on, and can be stopped at any time by replying STOP or from your account settings. What we send, how often, and what we do with the record of your choice is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Suspending or closing your account

You can delete your Passport and account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, provide false information, or pose a risk to other workers or employers on the platform.

Disputes

If a disagreement comes up, we will try to resolve it directly first — write to us and a person will answer. Nothing here asks you to give up a legal right, and we are not asking anyone to agree to an arbitration clause, because there is not one to agree to yet.

Changes to these terms

We will update this page if these terms change, and note it here. If a change is significant, we will let you know directly.
